Hundreds of small businesses in the Gaza envelope closed or were forced to completely cease operations following the Iron Swords war.
A new initiative called "Support Business IL" helps them survive these difficult days by providing immediate grants quickly.

IVN, Shva, the Jewish Agency, Klirmark Capital, and “Brothers in Arms” joined forces to launch the "Support Business IL" initiative, aiming to help by providing grants to businesses in the Gaza envelope affected by the war to allow them to continue to drive the local and national economy.

Purpose of the Project

Our goal is to provide immediate assistance to businesses that need "financial oxygen" in the coming period - to understand where their futures lie: returning the business to full operation, changing, or establishing a different business, all this to prevent collapse until the government authorities get involved.

Impact

The impact of the program has been profound.
To date, Support Business IL approved 1,800 grants, totaling approximately $3.250M.

Funds are already making a tangible difference, having been directly deposited into the accounts of businesses from Kerem Shalom to Sderot, Kfar Aza, Nahal Oz, Nativ Haasara, Zikim, Ofakim and surrounding communities near the Gaza border.

In addition to the financial support, Support Business IL offers small businesses that received a grant, two additional services:

  • Consulting for the Utilization of Rights - Provided as part of IVN's partnership with the program '8200 for Small Businesses'. By the end of January 2024, about 220 businesses have chosen this route and about 80 have already completed the process

  • Business Mentoring - Provided as part of IVN's partnership with the Brothers in Arms - Civilian Civil Society project, the Jewish Agency, and Clearmark Capital. This service focuses on the financial situation of the business, mapping possible actions and scenarios for the continued existence of the business, opportunities, work plans, management support, marketing, digitization, and more. By the end of January 2024, 150 businesses are already working with their mentors

Who is eligible for the grants?

The aid package is accessible to businesses within 7 kilometers of the Gaza border, in Ofakim, or owned by families of abducted/missing persons nationwide, with a minimum annual sales revenue between $5,000 and $500,000.

Grants, ranging between $1,250 and $5,000, are determined by the annual turnover of the business. The grant is disbursed in two phases: 60% within 3 business days upon receipt and approval of necessary details and documents. The remaining 40%, following a consultation with a professional consultant as a part of our business assistance program.

*Eligibility for the grant is subject to the fund's criteria, the availability of donation funds for grants, and the absence of any legal/other impediment under any law. The foundation does not guarantee to grant the grant in any case, even if the conditions for granting it have been met.
